23 Assembly members receive certificate of return in Cross River

 

Calabar - 23 House of Assembly Members-elect in Cross River State have been presented their certificates of return.

Presenting the certificate to winners at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) head office in Calabar, Cross River state capital, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Sylvester Ezeani, said the compulsory exercise is in accordance with the electoral laws.

Ezeani used the occasion to commend all stakeholders who contributed to the peaceful conduct of the elections across the state, and promised to build on lapses the commission experienced towards making subsequent elections better.

He charged the winners to justify the people’s mandate for posterity sake.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, the Member representing Calabar Municipality, Effa Esha, promised not to relent on their campaign promises.
